John Bainton

John Bainton is an experienced, multi-lingual, trouble-shooting, manager/consultant with more than 20 years experience working in finance, planning and outsourcing. He is a self-motivated, entrepreneurial, senior manager capable of working globally in multi-cultural environments and has worked in Europe, Eastern Europe and Australasia.

He is a Fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants (FCCA), UK and holds a Diploma of the Institute of Bankers, Ireland and a Diploma in Executorship and Trusteeship, Institute of Bankers, Ireland.

He is experienced in enterprise commercialisation and privatisation as well as IPOs and is also experienced in the establishment and development of new business ventures. John advised an Eastern European Bank on its privatisation (via a GDR based IPO on the New York and Warsaw stock exchanges) with particular responsibility for the financial aspects of the prospectus preparation process. He oversaw the commercialisation of the bank and conceptualised, articulated and implemented organisational and business re-engineering plans. On behalf of the bank, he also prepared terms of reference and negotiated contracts for the purchase of various consulting and advisory services resulting in substantial savings. He recruited and advised the Finance Director during the bank's privatisation and designed and implemented a new organisation structure for the bank's finance activities.

He has a proven ability to operate successfully and communicate at a senior level with external clients and vendors as well as internally across business functions. For example, as a Director of IT in a major investment house he was responsible for evaluating and negotiating contracts on behalf of the line businesses and their supporting IT functions, and for the out-sourcing of IT production, application development and application management environments. He was also responsible for ensuring the implementation of appropriate governance and MIS processes.

John speaks English (mother tongue), Spanish (fluent), Polish (conversational), German (conversational), and Mandarin (basic).
